October

Once the soil temperatures reach below 50º F (10º C) it's time to plant your spring flowering bulbs. Let the bright leaves of fall inspire you to imagine how beautiful your garden will look in the spring! Planting your bulbs in clusters is a great way to concentrate that color to really make your flower beds pop. For an extra bright display, plant small bulbs like grape hyacinths in front of higher-growing bulbs like daffodils for a two-toned effect or mingle them all together for a colorful mix.

* Adjust months slightly according to your climate zone.
