Freesia

Origins:

Native to South Africa. The species was named after German physician Friedrich Freese (1795-1876).

Planting Tips:

Freesias do best in areas where the night temperatures are cool. They prefer well drained soil that has to be kept moist during the growing season. Staking is advised to keep the stems upright or plant them among low-growing groundcover (like Iberis or Ajuga) for some support.
